It is my privilege, as the Principal, to extend a warm welcome at the start of this new academic year to The Indo Bharat International School. In Particular, I offer a special welcome to all new families joining the community of the school for the first time. IBIS not only has a reputation for high academic standards, but it is also well known for being a very caring community. I am certain that you will quickly experience the warm and caring ethos nurtured by the school over many years.
It won't take you long to realize that there is something rather special about IBIS. Everyone here feels important and valued no matter what role they play. There is a strong relationship between school and the home. Education doesn't begin and end at school. I consider the role of parents alongside the school to be vital for effective education and I will be seeking to promote this concept as a crucial ingredient of the learning community. I am a believer in 'life-long learning' and I acknowledge that everyone in school (including myself!), is indeed a learner.
We have planned for the year a large number of activities to supplement our formal curriculum. These include many clubs and events in school. I do hope you feel able to take full advantage of all that is on offer and help us to enrich the education and experiences of our community.
At IBIS your children will be encouraged to take some responsibility for their learning, be independent and support others in their efforts. Together, as a learning community, we will continue to set and achieve the high standards IBIS is famous for, whilst producing well balanced, successful and happy citizens of tomorrow. The world of tomorrow awaits our children and nowhere could they have better help in crossing the bridge to that world than at IBIS.
I am delighted to be part of an associated with this prestigious school and I am as excited as you must be by the prospect of the challenges and joys of a new year. I look forward to meet you and wish everyone at IBIS a very successful and happy year.
